Glitch in The Generations by LJ Elizabeth
Artist Statement
“Glitch in the Generations” came from the confusion of the fashion industry and what we are and aren’t supposed to wear, specifically for women throughout the different eras. Struggling with my own sense of identity in fashion and taking inspiration from my friends and the media around me, I created this piece to embody those struggles and the “glitch” that comes with it. Together the different styles and generation create a piece where there is no defined answer to what is right and wrong, and hopefully will inspire other to break out of the normal or the stereotypical, to break free of the glitch.
LJ Elizabeth is a published author and an artist that spends way too much time in the worlds she creates and not enough in real life. She co-authored her first book, a poetry collection called “The Fragility of a Downpour” on Amazon and has plans to publish even more. When not plotting out a new story or getting lost in music, she posts updates on her writing and art on Instagram @lj_writess.
