JUVEN
Issue IV
Letter from the Editor
After the seasons rose and fell, Juven is back for another issue. The writers featured in this issue take inspiration from the natural world around us, rapidly shifting and changing with an onslaught of new problems, whether environmental or cultural, and the familiar world that we've lived in before. Now more than ever, we need art in our lives. Writing and creating provides a small comfort, reminding us of the images and creativity stepping towards what the world could be.
In Sharmane's "the first time i held a girl's hand, the movie screen was my only witness," we follow a tender queer narrative about such an innocent moment, one that should be groundbreaking, but is still heartbreaking and quiet in nature. Laura Ma's "What if Eurydice Only Loved Living?" takes on a journey through a familiar Greek myth with a contemporary spin. Artwork by Khushi Desai, Andre Lim, and Kayla Vasilko are visually striking,
Each of the writers and artists in the this issue remind us why youth voices are critical. These are the future creatives of the world. We hope you enjoy reading and viewing these pieces as much as we did.
Keep creating.
